ABOUT US

Established in 1999, StressHead AG pioneered an innovative post-tensioning system for strengthening existing structures and bridges. Over the years, we have expanded our expertise to include earthquake resistance, industrial transformation, and high-rise enhancements. Our dynamic team operates nationally and internationally, delivering a range of projects to ensure structural longevity. At the core of our success is the patented StressHead CarboStress system, reflected in our company name. We earned the CTI Start-up Label in December 2000 for our innovative solutions.

In the age of sustainability, Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) stands out as a sustainable alternative to conventional construction materials.

  • Energy Efficiency: Retrofitting with CFRP consumes less energy compared to demolishing and rebuilding, minimizing waste and reducing construction-related energy consumption.
  • Extended Lifespan: CFRP’s corrosion resistance and durability extend the lifespan of structures, reducing maintenance needs and frequent replacements.
  • Reduced Material Waste: Tailorable to precise specifications, CFRP minimizes material waste compared to traditional construction methods.
  • Preserving Cultural Heritage: Renovating historic structures with CFRP conserves architectural heritage while enhancing structural integrity.
  • Economic Efficiency: CFRP renovation is often a cost-effective solution, requiring less investment while providing similar performance enhancements.
  • Minimized Disruption: CFRP renovation minimizes noise, pollution, and congestion at construction sites, contributing to a more sustainable urban environment.
  • Adaptive Reuse: CFRP enables adapting older buildings to contemporary needs, reducing the environmental impact associated with new construction.

Embracing CFRP in construction and advocating for renovation over reconstruction reflects our commitment to a more sustainable and eco-friendly future. At StressHead we are dedicated to pioneering these sustainable solutions and transforming the construction industry for the betterment of our planet and future generations.

StressHead AG has collaborated in recent years with many different Universities, Technical Colleges and Institutes in Switzerland and elsewhere. Furthermore, we work closely local partners to optimize our systems continuously and to develop innovative solutions for complex project situations.

Quality and reliability are amongst our most important precepts.

Testing:The testing we currently apply includes long-term structural analysis, dynamic testing with up to 2 million loadings and pull-out tests. We also continue to confirm the efficacy of our post-tensioning system in test facilities in various laboratories and in our own facilities at Lucerne. For more information we refer to our Technical Documentation and Design Concept.

StressHead AG and our valued partner Sika AG have enjoyed a long-standing and successful partnership, yielding benefits both nationally and internationally. In international projects, our direct collaboration with Sika’s local Technical Service Departments and Distribution is pivotal, as the StressHead post-tensioning system incorporates specific Sika standard products. The partnership allows us to offer you full service for your projects together with our colleagues at Sika.
